Upcoming Presentations – July – September 2022

It’s that time of year where I need to step back and look at my calendar and the adventures ahead. We’ve got summer camps and conferences galore, and I’m the one who keeps eyes on the general family calendar. So what am I up to? Let’s take a look!

Northeast Ohio Women in Tech (NEOWIT) – July 18

On Monday July 18 at 7pm US Eastern Time, I will be presenting Intro to Azure DevOps for the NEOWIT meetup. I’m excited to be showcasing how to get started with Azure DevOps. There are a couple demos I plan on showing as well as an exercise that I will be documenting here on my blog on Tuesday. I’ve been doing my Azure DevOps talks for a few years now, and I’m excited to show a small demo that will work with Windows and Linux environments. (Yes, a .NET 6 demo will be there!) RSVP on Meetup to get the meeting link!

Cloud Data Driven – August 4

On August 4th at 12:00pm US Eastern Time, I will be presenting my Predicting Flights with Azure Databricks talk for Cloud Data Driven. This talk first made its appearance for SEVDUG and NWVDUG in Arizona this past March. Join me as I walk you through Azure Databricks and its many capabilities. Register on Eventbrite.

CodePaLOUsa – August 18-19

Chad Green has been trying to get me to speak at CodePaLOUsa for many years, and it looks like we’re finally making it happen this year. I’ve got two talks that I’m presenting:

  • Predicting Flights with Azure Databricks – August 18 at 3:15pm in Regency South A
  • Securing Your Credentials for Azure App Development – August 19 at 9:00am in the Kentucky Suite

This is the debut of a talk that I’ve been excited to share after learning about DefaultAzureCredential on a Java project earlier this year. Yes, a Java project… and yes, I am showing the .NET version at the conference. The early bird deadline for tickets for CodePaLOUsa ends on July 22, 2022. Get your tickets today!

Azure Cosmos DB Global User Group – September 6

Earlier this year, I had submitted to the Azure Cosmos DB conference but didn’t make it in. (They had an awesome line-up!!!) They have invited me to give my talk at the Azure Cosmos DB Global User Group in September. I will be presenting my graph databases talk, showing how to navigate the Azure Cosmos DB Gremlin API. This has been a talk that I’ve created various themes for, and we’ll see what theme I use for this event! Stay tuned! Follow the Azure Cosmos DB Global User Group meetup for more details.

TDevConf – September 30

Speaking of my friend Douglas, he was teasing me for submitting a Java talk to TDevConf. 😂 Rest assured, it will be the .NET version, not the Java version, of the DefaultAzureCredential talk. I am also giving my Intro to Graph Databases talk with a BBQ theme, because Memphis is a serious barbecue place. They are still working on their schedule, so stay tuned and follow them on Twitter as @tdevconf.

Wrap-Up

I really enjoy these opportunities to share my knowledge with the community, and I look forward to meeting more folks and seeing you all in these adventures. If you are interested in seeing me at a conference or user group in October through December, now’s the time to get on my calendar. Hope to see you at some of these events!
